WHAT A SUMMER WE’VE HAD On Memorial Day we inducted our new class of youth into our youth group. We now have over 20 new 7th graders joining the ranks of youth! June started with Student Life camp where 6 of our youth came to know Christ as their Lord and Savior! We then went right into VBS where more than 40 youth volunteered to help make this years VBS one of the best we have had! Two weeks later we had YOUTH WEEK 2008!!! Journey was our theme and the Lord showed up Huge! We were blessed with an incredible band and speaker who challenged us to Love like Christ loves. Each night we had over 40 youth and each night we had a blast!! There were also many adults who blessed us during youth week as well. Tammy Ezzell, Deborah Owens, Regena Lacey, Charlie Ezzell, Tammy Sheldon, Foster and Tricia Oates, Joe Zeller, Steve Hooper, Jennifer Richards, Jim and Jackie Pollard, Kathy and Al Patterson, Tammy Moore, Janis and Billy Luttrell, were among the few who poured into our youth during youth week. We are so thankful that the Lord provided us with these adults and we know that Youth Week would not and could not happen without them. July was no less busy than June. We had Bible studies and dodge ball tournaments, night at Adventure Land, a day at Shipwreck Island and lots and lots of fellowship! We ended July with a mission trip where nine adults and nine youth served in Cleveland, Ohio. We put on two different Upward Basketball camps. The Lord was amazing and He showed up Big this week as well! Nineteen children accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior while we were there! It is an awesome sight to see youth love and encourage children who might not receive either at home. The Lord blessed our hearts while we were in Cleveland and I know that it will have an eternal impact on all who went. The summer is ending now and school is starting in a few short days, but I know that the Lord was with us this summer and I know that all of our youth were impacted by Him!
