Rev. Robert (Bob) Penton grew up as a member of an Air Force family, living in a number of different parts of the United States as well as in overseas locations. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Huntingdon College in Montgomery. He is a graduate of the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, and he has completed a two-year program in Clinical Pastoral Education at Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Rev. Penton has served in a number of locations in Alabama and Northwest Florida. Prior to his appointment to FUMC, he was the senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Monroeville, Alabama.

Rev. Penton and his wife, Ruth, have been married for 35 years. Ruth is the daughter of a retired Methodist minister. She received a bachelor and master’s degree in Christian Education from Asbury College and Seminary.  Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in counseling from the University of South Alabama.  Ruth has served in a number of positions in the conference and in its churches.  She is a retired Diaconal Minister.

 

 

Rev. Meghan Kelley is from Orlando, Florida. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Florida State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. While at Florida State she was active in the Wesley Foundation, serving as a staff member and student coordinator. Also, while a Florida State student, Rev. Kelley completed training for and served in a number of programs in the foreign mission field. She has traveled to Scotland, Norway, Spain, Morocco, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

Rev. Kelley earned her Master’s of Divinity from the Duke Divinity School in North Carolina in 2009. She and her husband, Reverend Wes Kelley, were married shortly after her graduation.
