To Know,
Grow, and Show
the Love of Jesus

At Enterprise First United Methodist Church we recognize that children are our most precious gift from God.  Based on our insight and understanding of how children learn and grow, you will find many opportunities for the children to know, grow and show the love as Jesus' disciple.

We offer a variety of programs to encourage each child’s spiritual growth, while developing

their gifts and talents, so that each and every child stands firm in their faith.

To Know Christ and Make Him Known

Vision: To Know, Grow, and Show the Love of Jesus

Advice For Parents during Worship

  • Sit near the front of the service, where children can see and feel included in what is happening.

  • If possible, seat children with adults between them.

  • Introduce your children to those sitting nearby.

  • Go through the bulletin, locating songs, readings and any special happenings.

  • Encourage children to participate in the offering by sharing their own money and by placing the family’s offering in the plate.

  • Children learn “worship etiquette” as they participate in worship. Feel free to whisper words of instruction and encouragement.

  • Remember it is difficult for a young child to sit still for long.

  • Enjoy holding your child on your lap or allow them to kneel and use the pew or chair as a desk.

  • Feel comfortable allowing your child to participate in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

  • Nursery care for children ages 3 and under is available during all worship services.

  • Children ages 3-kindergarten will be invited to attend Children’s Church prior to the sermon.

  • Children’s worship notes and bags are available at the front of the Sanctuary or near the Connect Center of the Fellowship Hall.

In Children’s Church our 3’s through Kindergarten experience worship music and hear exciting Bible stories through crafts and activities in a large group setting. Your child will develop their ability to know God's word and that they are a Child of God.
Children’s Church is available during both of the C3 services and the Traditional services for children ages 3 years – Kindergarten in room A-113 of the MDO Building. On Communion Sundays (the 1st Sunday of each month), there will be no Children’s Church to allow children to experience Communion with their family.

*All children will be taken to their Sunday School class unless picked up first by a parent or guardian.

Sunday School (Preschool to 6th Grade)

Offered During Sunday School Hour (9:50 - 10:50)

*We use the Deep Blue curriculum for preschool through 3rd grade. Deep Blue incorporates Bible stories, activities, crafts, media, and games into a full faith experience for children. Your child will learn to proclaim the good news of God’s love and serve God and love our neighbors.

*Our tweens study from the “Connect” curriculum from Spark House Publisher. The kids spend an hour engaged in God’s big story through videos, Bible exploration, and hands-on projects.

Confirmation Class (typically 6th and 7th Graders)

Offered During Sunday School Hour (9:50 - 10:50)

Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. We invite 6th graders-7th graders to participate in the Confirmation Journey. This will be a great opportunity for you to ask some questions about our church, about being Methodist, and most importantly, about being a follower of Jesus Christ. Classes are held during the Sunday school hour throughout the year.
